With more security, malware attacks and for defense against the Inappropriate sites. Microsoft releases Windows Defender Extensions. Microsoft has developed and started testing Windows Defender Application Guard extensions for both Chrome and Firefox to better protect enterprise PCs. The characteristic, which used to be an Edge exclusive, keeps PCs safe by opening web pages not included in administrators’ trusted sites in a virtual container.

Microsoft releases Windows Defender Extensions, will work like same way it does in Edge. But checking the URL the user navigates to against a list of trusted websites. If it’s found that user is navigating to an untrusted site, it will open in a sandboxed Microsoft Edge browser.

Microsoft releases Windows Defender Extensions

Initially Microsoft is testing for Firefox and Google Chrome; soon it will be available for every browser. While the extensions can be downloaded from the browsers’ respective stores, Windows Defender for Chrome and Firefox won’t work without help from Edge.

On the other hand, If it has determined that the URL is not in the trusted list, it will open the website in an isolated Edge session. However, any link clicked in the isolated session will still launch in the original browser if it’s a trusted website. From there, user can navigate to any website, whether it’s trusted or not, as it won’t be able to harm your system.

To use the feature, both the Windows Defender companion application from the Microsoft Store and the browser-specific extension must be installed. Since it’s still in preview mode, only Insiders can access it at the moment, though it will eventually have a wide release once it’s been tested more thoroughly.

Since now, the extension is only live for Insiders right now, user will able to use it on Windows 10 version 1803. Besides that, user can use higher when it’s publicly available, though user will need Windows 10 Pro or Enterprise.
